Reflection & Organization
February is the perfect time to reflect on your past experiences and organize these thoughts into something you can use in the future!
While traveling, my motto is always “less is more”- except for when it comes to clothes. I hate lugging unnecessary items around the airport, which is why I stick to the essentials. My succinct and brief packing list covers everything you may need while traveling, without going overboard. Pick a book or movie from my list of suggestions to try out next time you have time to kill on a plane or in the car. Also make sure to check out my suggested list of carry on essentials to pack before you take off!!
One of the best things about traveling is having all of this extra time away from my busy day to day schedule to relax and start my next book! Whether you're stuck sitting in a long car ride or relaxing on the beach, having a new book on hand is always a great way to kill time and check the next bullet off your reading list. So, here are a few suggestions of different books to read while traveling!!
  • Eat, Pray, Love
  • The Best of Me
  • Message in a Bottle
  • Life of Pi
  • When Breath Becomes Air
  • Little Women
  • Into the Wild
  • The Secret
  • The Kite Runner
  • Pride and Prejudice
  • The Great Gatsby
  • The Outsiders
  • Oliver Twist
  • The Martian
  • The Alchemist
  • Me before You
  • Paper Towns
Top choice: Eat, Pray, Love is my go-to book while traveling because it makes me excited about exploring new places. The book follows the journey of main character Liz, who embarks on a journey of self discovery through Italy, India, and Bali after her life took a big turn from getting divorced.
Movies/TV Shows
If reading isn't your thing, here's a list of my favorite movies and tv shows to watch while traveling. From rom coms to documentaries to TV shows, there's bound to be something for everyone on this list.
  • Gilmore Girls
  • Bridgerton
  • Eat, Pray, Love
  • 13 going on 30
  • The Notebook
  • Emily in Paris
  • The Martian
  • Me Before You
  • Life of Pi
  • Back to the future
  • The Outsiders
  • Gossip Girl
  • Pride and Prejudice
  • Good Will Hunting
  • Set it Up
  • Ps. I Love You
  • Sixteen candles
  • The Breakfast Club
  • Interstellar
  • Inception
  • The Longest Ride
Top TV Show: Though I love newly released Bridgerton, Gilmore Girls has been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember, so it takes the cake. Set in the small town of Stars Hollow, the show follows mother and daughter duo Lorelai and Rory Gilmore through the ups and downs of their love lives and careers in a lighthearted way. Gilmore Girls is a go to of mine- I've seen every episode at least 5 times.
Top Movie: Me Before You is one of my absolute favorite movies (and books)! Featuring a heart wrenching love story, this movie never fails to make me cry. Lou’s eclectic fashion choices and the scenic backdrop of castles and landmarks in the UK add to the movie’s charm. I've also seen this one at least 5 times and I never get tired of it.
Here are a few essentials I always keep in my carry on for easy access while traveling!
  • Airborne/hand sanitizer
  • Headphones/earbuds
  • Charger + portable charger
  • Passport and ID/documentation
  • Gum + mints
  • Laptop/Laptop case
  • Wallet- keep your boarding pass and passport in it
  • Reusable water bottle to fill up after security
  • Hair ties + chapstick
  • Tylenol + Advil
